When you know your own capabilities, you get a good idea of how soon you can accomplish a particular task. Others may take a whole day for something you can do within an hour. So understand your own potential first.

Time things that you commonly do. If you have to regularly do a particular type of work, then check how much time you need to do that. When you manage your time, you can allot that much time for it later on.

Always prioritize your work. Give priority to things that are more important, those that have an influence on other things that you do. If there is some task whose fulfillment will expedite another task, then do that task first. Proper prioritization can lead to better productivity.

Keep proper time for every kind of activity. No matter if it is work, play or recreation. Keep some family time as well. Only allotting time for work your time management will backfire because you will be stressed out. You will then look for other kinds of things to do, and rebuff your own time management agenda.

Always have some variety in your tasks. Don’t do the same things over and over again. Clockwork precision may sound good for time management but it actually isn’t. Rituals and Habits: Simply put, a ritual or habit is a consistent way of doing something. You have a morning ritual (wake up, brush your teeth, work out, shower, and head to your office), evening ritual (check homework, tuck the kids in, watch the evening news, and hit the sack), weekend ritual (sleep late, mow the lawn, catch a movie, visit your mom), and many others.

The trouble is, if you’re not careful with your rituals, they can turn into productivity killers. Is checking Facebook or email a part of your morning ritual? Is turning on Skype a part of your at work ritual? Distractions such as these can turn even your best intentions into hours of wasted time.
Take a good look at your rituals. Keep track of what are you doing that you should not be—or that should be moved to another part of your day. Make your rituals more efficient and you’ll automatically get more done.

Calendar Management: Want to know how much time you really have available for that new project? Try blocking off time in your calendar for all your existing projects. Your client calls, your business administrative tasks, time for meals and breaks, outside appointments, and everything else you’re committed to. It can be surprising what is left.
Make it a habit to block time in your calendar for every commitment, and you’ll never again over-promise or over-commit.

Learn to Let Go: Here’s a news flash. You do not have to do everything in your business. You can (and should) hand off those low-level tasks to someone else. Hire a VA to create your documents and manage your calendar. Let your tech support person manage your blog and email. Turn over your bookkeeping to an accountant. The time you free up will allow you to work on what’s truly important—and that only you can do.

Work Hard, Play Harder: You are not a machine. You cannot work all day every day and hope to be at your best all the time.
Take a day off. Get some rest, or relax on a long, slow hike. Take a friend out to lunch. Go shopping with your kids. See a movie or a play. Do something—anything—other than work.
Not only will you return to the office feeling much more refreshed, but you’ll find yourself more creative and productive than before as well.

Focus: Multi-tasking is impossible. You cannot efficiently create a new coaching program while you’re simultaneously surfing Facebook, keeping an eye on the kids, and answering the phone every time it rings.

Instead, use your calendar to block time off for important tasks, then turn everything else off so you can focus. No phone, no Facebook, no kids or spouses or neighbors or pets demanding “just a minute” of your time. Everything needs to be tuned out. You’ll find your work getting done much faster. Managing your time and turning up your productivity is not something that comes naturally to most people but when you learn to master this skill, you’ll find your business grows right along with you.

Managing stress and time is a rewarding achievement that all must maintain in order to reach success. Each day we wake up, we begin by stressing to meet deadlines, demands, and finding time to spend with our family, selves and friends. Seems virtually impossible since there are only 24-hours in a single day and at least of eight of those hours are consumed with sleep. The challenge of maintaining stress and time brings forth many obstacles, and most times, we find it difficult to maintain. In this article, we are going to work some techniques that help reduce stress and add more time to your management scheme.

Stress is a direct result of not handling your emotions in accordance to the many stressors that attack your life. The key then is finding a solution to get in touch with your emotions. Emotions can also affect how we hear people talk, and how we talk to people. When the mind is not thinking to its full capacity it is called irrational behavior.

The key then is finding a “rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT),” that works best for your mind. REBT is an action process that requires the individual to approach his or her emotions, while providing them the support to stay in contact with who they are and at the same time find a resolve within self. The plan makes it a convenient method in approaching life’s problems in full light, while overcoming stress. The therapy technique requires only a few minutes of your time each day.

Try to Think Positively

We can start by telling our minds to think positive and believe in what we are telling ourselves. Emotions are a strong force we want to stop before they take control of our lives. If we have negative emotions, it affects our time management scheme since negative emotions puts fear and doubt into our heads.

Think Positive

We all must remember that we are responsible for our decisions and behaviors, and that stress is the product of irrational thinking. By learning how to think reasonable and keeping a positive outlook on life, it is possible to manage stress and time. To learn we must practice. Practice makes perfection!

This means that you will take a few minutes per day to tell yourself that you are responsible for you, and that you have full control of your mind and the decisions you make. You have control of your behavior and no one else. Once you have accepted responsibility of your actions and decisions you will soon find the rest an easy road to travel. In other words, you will soon follow a pattern of wise decisions, when you learn to trust self and accept that we all make mistakes.

Mistakes are common, but the key to success is learning from your mistakes. Stressed as a result of overloads in the workplace, home, and world? Then you need to set up some space for yourself. Putting off your responsibilities is the process of creating more problems. Therefore, it is important that you create a plan and carrying out the responsibilities as soon as possible. This is putting your plans into action. Action is the process of making something work. When you are working toward goals, things will run smoothly since your plan is in place.

Once you reach your short-term goals, the next step is working to achieve your long-term goal, which requires more action on your part and follow the same golden rules.
